Our Story
What is a Swagman?
The term originates from Australia and describes someone who travelled by foot from farm to farm seeking work and carrying his belongings in a swag. This is the image our founders had in mind when they started Swagman almost 30 years ago. But they were in search of adventures and their swag included bikes, kayak or anything they could use to explore the nature surrounding them in beautiful British-Columbia, Canada.
About Swagman
Swagman was one of the first companies worldwide to design and market a hitch style bike rack. Over the years, that small bike rack company based in the Okanagan Valley of British Columbia grew to include numerous ground breaking designs in the North American Bicycle, RV and Automobile markets.

VERSATILE: The ROAMER 84″ Cross Bars will fit most bike and water sports accessories. They can also be used to mount solar panels on a camper. The square steel crossbars accept most clamp-on carriers and accessories. Use them as a car top carrier to carry kayaks, or on an RV camper to perfectly haul your bikes.
EASY TO ASSEMBLE: Directions provided help guide through an easy installation. The roof rack crossbars come with provided bolt-down hardware and rubber pad mounts and are flawless for a generic installation on a flat surface. The cross bars can also be cut to fit your specific application.
STURDY: The crossbars are made from steel with a black powder coat finish that resists rust, corrosion and fading making them solid, strong, and stable. Build a universal roof rack that holds up well to hauling kayaks and bikes at the same time!
SAVE MONEY: Inexpensively haul bikes, kayaks and other cargo up to a maximum of 75lbs. Use it as your car roof rack to efficiently transport up to 4 mountain bikes, or 2 kayaks.
RV RATED: Rack mount works perfectly on different sized trailers and campers.
