How long does the Lure Last? You can continuously cast for approximately a half hour to an hour depending on the shape of the lure. The lure will slowly lose the flexibility and become more fragile. It works in both salt and fresh water.

Because the lures are made from pure organic materials, the lure degrades similarly to a leaf, a twig, or any other natural object. The initial degradation will occur within a couple of days, but then parts will take several months to completely degrade. It is likely to be eaten before that.

What is the Lure Material made out of? The rubber is 99.99% vegetable based consisting of a mixture of a protein biopolymers, a vegetable based organic plasticizer, small amounts of cotton, and other ingredients. Everything is degradable in the water environment and environmentally safe. There is no petroleum, BPA, or any non-organic chemicals in the rubber.

How Many Lures Can you Make?

With the mix and match starter shape you can get 20 plus different lengths and shapes. We also have other shapes available and you can use almost anything to make your own molds. And since the mold making material is reusable, you can experiment all that you want, any time you want.

The rubber is stiffer than the nonbiodegradable material, so be sure to form the shapes to get the type of action that you would like. And unlike petroleum based lures, the EcolureMaker rubber is fish friendly, and will attract the fish. Add your own scents and special ingredients to catch the big one.

EcoLureMaker is part of ComposiMold Reusable Mold Making Materials and Wizbe Industries that has been making reusable molding materials since 2009. We are a small business located in Manchester Maine where we make the materials used in the kit.

I’m happy to say that the Ecoluremaker Soft Bait Rubber does not contain any PVC, plastisol, silicone, petroleum products, etc…it only contains all natural materials. You could eat the lure yourself, although their is some cotton fibers in the rubber to provide extra strength that might not taste that good. The rubber degrades much like any natural material such as wood or a leaf.
